Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

12/30/25 McKinley’s Cafe made for a great lunch stop. I ordered the soup of the day, a bowl of clam chowder. It was fantastic: creamy, comforting, and not too fishy or salty. I also tried their popular Gouda & turkey panini, and it did not disappoint. This is a pay-before-you-sit spot, and the service was impressively fast. My food came out hot and delicious within about 10 minutes. The ambiance was casual and inviting, and the staff was very friendly. Overall, a great enjoyable experience, and I would definitely eat here again in the future. But also there’s limited parking as it is street parallel parking near by here. But well worth it.

A friend and I were in town for a hike on the Greenway and stopped here for lunch. What an adorable spot! I love how you can build your own sandwich and I was able to get exactly what I wanted and it was so tasty. Their breads and bakery make this a highly recommended stop if you're in Shelbyville. The pasta salad was also very good.

Absolutely amazing! From warm welcoming smiles to hot, delicious food! I cannot recommend this place enough. The goat cheese and turkey panini was delicious, the cookie was so good, and I’ve never met a kinder team! So blessed to have found this gem! ALSO!! The prices are phenomenal. We left stuffed and happy. Usually today, I feel like I waste my money but this was such an honest and fair establishment from beginning to end. I cannot sing their praises enough!!
