This was our first time at Mellow Mushroom. Will def be going back. In the heart of Avondale. Very walkable, parking is situated at the back of the building. One entrance leads to bar, high top and couch area. Another entrance offers booth/ and table dining with a view of the kitchen. The Pizza dough was by far best I've had. I love pizza and this beats out Al's, Celino'd and Renna's on the crust alone. It's a water dough crust. Crispy edges and chewy. The cheese is a perfect blend. The Calzone and boneless wings were good. We chose Chicken Parm and Caribbean Jerk as the flavors with bleu cheese and ranch dipping sauces. Love that domestic lagers were offered. They have a huge selection of craft beers as well as house made cocktails and cocktails. 5 stars. Everything I was looking for in an upscale hip pizza joint. The wait staff and cooks servers were very friendly and added a nice vibe.

Nice atmosphere, but very long wait time. Mellow Mushroom Pizza in Jacksonville has a cozy and welcoming vibe, and the fire truck inside is a great attraction for kids. The food was good once it arrived, but the wait time was over an hour, which felt excessive for dine-in guests. We noticed the kitchen was very busy with to-go orders, but the delay for those of us eating at the restaurant was still too long.

Mmmnmum uhnnmmm nmmuhh ĥhhumnn... Had to start this review whilst devouring the deliciousness-ness! This was a rarity when everything was just right: The weather, the other people there eating, the aromas in the restaurant, the food, the drinks, and the waitresses. I was feeling pizza! I ordered the rolls and calzone. It was preceded by the enlightened spinach salad which was rummaging! I knew at some point I needed to get a stomach ache fitting in all the food I wanted inside my belly. Mellow Mushrooms did that darn- thing. I took my time. This was my day off and I have absolutely no regrets. I'm heading back for there "Maui Wowie" - meet me there!
