Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I absolutely love Mellow Mushroom , which makes this even more disappointing to write. My friend and I stopped in during our work break for a simple to-go order. This was not even a dine-in experience …we were just picking up food. While placing an order at the bar , we complimented the bartender, Stephen, on his tattoos. He responded by saying he has “Ahh yea , thank you ! I have the perfect pale skin for color.” Implying that if his skin was darker, the color would not take? I’m confused. As Black Women, that comment immediately made us uncomfortable. It was unnecessary and inappropriate in a customer interaction. What should have been a light, friendly moment shifted into something that felt racially insensitive and exclusionary. This was just a brief to-go pickup. I can’t help but wonder how uncomfortable we would have felt if we had stayed for a full dine-in experience. That thought alone is unsettling. Regardless of intent, comments like that reflect a serious lack of cultural awareness and professionalism. The fact that this occurred at all is concerning. Management should implement comprehensive cultural sensitivity and customer interaction training immediately. Guests should never leave questioning whether they are welcome or safe in your establishment. Because of this experience, I am not comfortable returning, and I will NOT hesitate to talk about my experience at this location to others.

At 7:00 with barely 30% capacity I have a takeout ordered 30 minutes ago. Still not done and the takeout cashier is unbelievably unbothered. 6 people on the line and barely anything coming out? Are there even managers?

Ordered a medium pizza and noticed that the crust thickness was thin. I asked the bartender/server if the pizza thickness was standard by default and he confirmed that. I mentioned that this thin crust has been the case a few times we have ordered pizza, so it looks like a preparation inconsistency issue. He said that it depends on who is stretching the dough. I said how does that work if the pizza is supposed to be standard and stretches it to be thin? He got huffy and said, I see that you are not happy with the pizza, so will get you a new one. I told him I was fine with eating the one I had and that I was merely pointing out the lack of consistency in crust thickness to provide him feedback to pass back to that area. He went ahead and ordered another pizza for me in spite of me saying no, do not order another pizza and said that I could keep the one I had as a free pizza. At that point I felt unwelcomed and ask for to-go with the pizzas we had and the check. I did not wait for his replacement pizza. He told me he was a manager also, but he seemed disinterested in addressing a quality control issue. The message I got here, is that it is better to keep silent and then complain in Google Review. Maybe train this manager some better customer service, like ask the customer what it would take to be satisfied, which all he had to do was acknowledge the feedback and move on. While he claimed to be calm, his body language said otherwise as his movements were jerky and agitated as he proceeded with pizza replacement when I had said no, do not order another pizza. I was never rude with him.
