Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Mimi Al Forno in Laveen is one of those places that immediately makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. I started with the house bread, which was warm, fresh, and perfect for setting the tone for the meal. Simple, comforting, and clearly made with care. The Laveen salad was a pleasant surprise—crisp, well-balanced, and refreshing without feeling like an afterthought. It complemented the meal beautifully and showed the same attention to detail as the rest of the menu. The real standout, though, was the lasagna bolognese. Rich, hearty, and layered with deep, comforting flavors, it felt like true Italian comfort food. Each bite was satisfying without being heavy, the kind of dish that reminds you why classics exist for a reason. Overall, Mimi Al Forno delivers honest, well-executed food in a welcoming setting. It’s the kind of neighborhood spot you’re happy to have close by—and one you’ll definitely want to return to.

My husband and I ordered the calamari as an appetizer and shared a calzone. The calamari was satisfactory. The calzone's crust was excellent, but I found the meat filling to be overly spicy.

Worst pizza I had so far! It arrived cold and the crust was burnt on the bottom and not edible! So it was waste of money, because we couldn’t eat it:( also just 4 pieces of ham on 6 slices of pizza, so someone doesn’t get ham on their pizza slice?🤷🏼‍♀️
