Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I don’t go to Ming’s for the atmosphere. I go because it is great food, the owners have always been fantastic, and that Hot & Sour soup is perfect with the weather is cold or you’re in need of some comfort. I love it. !! Be advised, there is no online ordering system attached to their business. The kwikmenu thing is not real!!

To start with, this place has the best pu-pu platter in the area, with New China up in Cullman as the second best. Their Mongolian beef is the best Mongolian beef I have ever had anywhere. I have not had one that compared to what I have had here. Also, they are very tolerant of custom orders: I was not able to get any other restaurant to do a Mongolian beef with fried-breaded beef but this one. Just ask for "A Mongolian beef that is fried like your Orange Beef instead of sauteed." Their hot and sour soup is good. The egg foo yong is presented a little strange but tastes good. The buffet isn't really good. I haven't ordered the noodles, but the ones from the buffet are slimy. Their sesame chicken isn't worth it, and the breading doesn't stick to the meat. Sizzling rice was boring. It's more good than bad.
