So my choice in going here was solely based off of previous reviews. I am nit from this state so I had to go by what the people was saying and out of all the other jamaican restaurants; this one has the highest and better reviews. I ordered the rasta pasta with oxtail originally wanting it with shrimp but I was advised it was be a 20min wait. ( I understood and appreciated them being upfront). Let me just say the pasta was cooked to perfection and it tasted amazing. The oxtail's gravy on the other hand was very oily/greasy instead of the type of oxtail gravy I was looking for as a jamaican. I do have to say that other than that issue the oxtail meat fell off the bone , it was delicious and nice size pieces with no alot of fat, so I truly appreciate that! My husband had the Jerk bbq pork ribs, rice and peas, plantain and cabbage. Again the meat FELL OFF THE BONE! -hands down the chef is killing the meat!!! My husband did not like the rice and felt like it tasted fake; now someone being born and raised inna jamaica knows dem rice n peas. So he probably wont return based off of that. The portion sizes are nice , very big and I can say that the prices are worth it. Lastly spending $8.20 on 2 tropical rhythms is a bit much where I come from but I again understand. Thank you for service us!

Been a while since ate here. Was in the area so decided to stop in for lunch. Got the Stew chicken w/ Mac & cabbage. Mac & cabbage good; Mac a lil salty. Rice & peas & chicken was dry & chicken was sweet tastes like BBQ chicken. Didn’t even finish food. Never had dry stew chicken before. Food & service went from great to poor. Won’t be back.

After a long day at work, I decided to treat myself to some jerk chicken, a dish I hadn’t had in a while. Eagerly, I placed my order and couldn't resist digging in while driving home. However, just two bites in, I had to pause. The jerk chicken I remember is not only spicy but also has a hint of sweetness. This particular dish, though, was just hot without that familiar flavor profile. Thinking back, we had a Jamaican neighbor who would cook and sell us various dishes, and his jerk chicken was always my favorite. I hoped to find something that came close to his incredible cooking. I’ve also tried jerk chicken from other restaurants, but for some reason, Mystic’s version didn’t hit the mark for me.
