Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

This is our weekly go to dinner! Full filling and delicious. The owner always makes sure everyone is satisfied with their meal. The staff are friendly and polite most days. The only thing is it gets really hot in there in the summer time when the ac goes out. CPI runs that part. Other than that Nick’s is the best homemade pita bread for sandwiches.! Highly recommend!

For the third time in the span of a year we were able to make it down to Nick's Gyros and of course it didn't disappoint at all. The food was still absolutely fantastic and made quickly. Everything made absolutely fast as usual too. I cant state enough how much that we love this place. We literally travel to this place from far away to make sure that we can have it as well. Ive stated in the past about the Kearney location that shares the same name, but thats all they share. The Hastings location is above and beyond in absolutely every single way. The food is a monster size. The pitas are huge. The amount of meat that you get is fantastic as well too. Everything just always tastes fresh and thats what makes us want to come back. They also have the best mozzarella sticks we have had in the tri-city area as well when they're fresh. They're just fantastic and I recommend that everyone gets them with their order. I personally havent tried their traditional gyros but im sure that they're just as good.

What an interesting find in a gas station! After entering the gas station, there is another large room on the north half of the building that houses Nick's Gyros and a Chinese restaurant (think small food court) with several tables and chairs/booths. The "traditional Greek gyro" ($11.99) was great, but it is a lot of food for one person. Two people could easily share one order. While we were asked if we were dining in or to go, we still received the gryos in large foam containers with hinged lids. Fountain Pepsi products are available (one size for $2.75). The older woman who took our order was kind of snarky in a trying-to-be-funny way, which was a bit off-putting, but the food was good and the dining area was clean.
