Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

My favorite breakfast / brunch place in Portland! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. Plenty of tables for groups of various sizes. Creative Balkan-inspired breakfast and brunch classics with unique cultural specialties as well. Favorites include the Parzhen (fried eggplant); Eggs Panagura; and Shakshuka with kyufte sausage. Everything on the menu is delicious! Coffee and made-to-order drinks are tasty and beautifully presented. The staff here go above and beyond to deliver exceptional service, quality, and experience. I am so lucky to come here regularly!

Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly! We even got a latte and chai and they were better than most coffee shops. Gavyn is one of the best servers I've ever had at a restaurant and will definitely be back. One of Portland's most slept on brunch spots.

My boyfriend was born and raised in Bulgaria. We stopped by Nom Cafe for brunch on New Years Day and were very impressed by the food. The kyufte and lutenitsa hit very close to home for him. The lutenitsa is the best I have been able to find outside of Bulgaria. The ambience of the restaurant is very cute and welcoming, and the service was excellent as well.
