A Must-Stop Gem on I-10! The Best Surprise Between Houston and New Orleans We were making the long drive from Houston to New Orleans on I-10 and decided we needed a much-needed coffee break. Thanks to a quick Google search, we ended up finding this absolute treasure: the old Orange Cafe. Honestly, this detour turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to our trip. The food here is genuinely the best—a perfect, hearty meal that was exactly what we needed. But what truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The people were so lovely and welcoming, making us feel right at home the moment we walked in. Paired with the truly extraordinary service, this isn't just a cafe; it's a true taste of local hospitality. If you find yourself passing through, do yourself a favor and stop here. Highly, highly recommend!

I was in Orange for business and googled a place to eat. When seeing the name, I hoped it was the old Humble Cafe. Old Orange Cafe was better than my exception on every level. Its cozy, the food is delicious. The service is fast and friendly. I went back yesterday because I was passing though Orange. I love in Lake Charles, but am planning a road trip to eat there again. Oh and the chocolate Chess pie is out of this world. Next time I may get a whole pie.

I think we were surprised at how amazing the food was at this little cafe in Orange. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but we had some of the best authentic diner food any of us have ever had. It’s been a while since we’ve been, but it does make me want to head back to Orange! The Cajun grilled shrimp was to die for, and the chicken fried chicken was amazing, so was the country fried chicken biscuit!! Do stop by here!!
