Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Came in a group of 5 and we were pretty easily seated. Only one front and 1 cook so they seemed understaffed but they worked quickly and efficiently. We had a variety of dishes, noodles were somewhat oily. The signature black bean dish is definitely good if you like it, salty with a hint of sweet and a load of umami flavor. The sample soup was mild spicy despite its red color, so don't be afraid of it. Sweet and sour chicken seem to be breaded in a semi-tempura breading, satisfying crunch and the sauce was not overly sweet. Each dish is pretty big, either feeds two people or one Very hungry person. My complaint is that there were very few vegetables, just a ton of noodles.

We had high hopes, but our experience left us somewhat underwhelmed. The restaurant has a solid reputation and a diverse menu, but unfortunately it didn’t quite hit the mark for us this visit. If you’re just looking for a hearty meal at a fair price and are in the neighborhood, Paik’s is decent. But if you’re seeking something exceptional or memorable in the Korean-noodle category, I’d recommend exploring a few other local spots first. Maybe try one of their signature dishes, but adjust expectations accordingly.

We had the shrimp fried rice, the bokkeumyeon seafood noodles, sweet and sour pork and the creamy shrimp. The food came out hot. Everything was really good. We will go back to try other things.
