Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Before visiting Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House for a 1:30 tour, we grabbed what we hoped to be a quick lunch at this quaint restaurant. We needed more time than we planned! I ordered the daily special of a gyro sandwich with fries. The only thing served hot was the pita. Meat and fries were room temperature. My wife fared better by ordereing wings with bourbon sauce on half and garlic-parmesan seasoning on the rest. They were excellent.

Very good neighborhood Tavern here with a nice menu selection. I had a Shaved Lamb Melt with a side Salad.

Neighborhood place (on-street parking or walking) with a cozy atmosphere. Fish fry was average, but on the higher price range ($19.99, although their website listed $16.99 when checked). I prefer a sweeter, finer, less crunchy cole slaw. Cole slaw is served in a small plastic cup, and tartar sauce in a tiny plastic cup. Side salad was small and very basic. No rolls or bread. Nice batter on the fish, though. Coffee: so so. If I go again, I'll look for other options than the fish fry. But lots of people were there so they seem to be doing fine.
