Pita & Company

We stopped here for a late lunch after seeing the strong google reviews. The cuisine is one of our favorites & is certainly a welcome change from all the holiday fare at home. We ordered the beef & chicken Schwartz combo with a side of basmati rice to share. It came with salad, pickled vegetables, hummus, pita, salad dressing, creamy garlic sauce, hot chili sauce, and we added tatziki sauce. I forgot to take the photo when it 1st arrived, but you can see how well it went. I WAS expecting leftovers to bring home but that did NOT happen. The salad was FRESH & CRISP. The pickled vegetables-- turnips, olives, & petite pickles, all had a nice brine to them but no overwhelming vinegar as some can have. The beef & chicken were both well seasoned, tender, & perfectly cooked. Hummus was creamy, smooth with great flavor. Bastmati rice was heavier than we've typically had, but that could be from a different cooking method. The only thing I wasnt crazy about was the pitas. These were the thin, pocket style that have little weight to them for scooping up Hummus, Schwarma, & rice from your plate like the thicker, soft & fluffy, pocketless pita does with ease. It was not, by any means, enough to detract from our overall experience, but it would certainly take it to the next level if the owner/chef of this one man shop sourced a new pita. Excellent meal & certainly a place to which we will return when we are back in town!

It has been a decade since I had Mediterranean cuisine. Wife and I were looking for something completely different and decided to try Pita & Company. We were skeptical as we parked in a dark strip mall parking lot. So glad we did as the food was out of this world. Cooked right, flavored just right. This will be a new favorite place now You will not regret eating here!

Pita & Company was incredibly delicious - it was some of the best food we’ve had in NOLA. It was wonderful meeting Shadi, the owner and chef who makes all of the food as you order. We tried the hummus, falafel, and chicken shawarma - would recommend all equally. Something for everyone! Beautiful and clean interior as well. Thanks Shadi!
