Playa Grande

Playa Grande has a lot of potential, but I’m not sure they’ve quite gotten there yet. Our server was very nice, and the service was mostly great, but at one point my wife asked for more chips and salsa and they forgot. Once the entrées came (I had steak fajitas, my son had a birria quesadilla, and my wife had tacos al pastor), they were alright. My wife is Hispanic, and we lived in South Florida for quite a while, so that’s the lens we look through when it comes to tacos. The food was a little “gringo-ized” for our tastes, but it was okay. As we finished our meal, we did notice several employees on their phones off to the side. I understand that it wasn’t very busy, but it’s usually best to answer personal calls in private. Overall, I realize they’re a very new restaurant, so they’ll likely improve as they gain experience and grow. We plan to come back in the future to see if they’re realizing their potential.

Food was ok.. I was excited to try the enchiladas after reading the raving reviews. All 3 meals we ordered didn’t come as pictured and tasted just ok. Wouldn’t go back.

Playa Grande is amazing! The staff are attentive and very friendly. The food is AMAZING! I’ve found my new favorite enchilada place. The chicken tacos are also excellent. Highly recommend you try it!
