Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

1 Star — Because Google still refuses to offer negative numbers We walked into POROTTAS / The Grand Indian Cuisine (9600 Fairway Dr) expecting to bite, chew, savor, and swallow some delicious food… Instead, we ended up swallowing frustration, disbelief, and a whole lot of pride. Basically everything except food. At the 35‑minute mark, when I asked about the delay, the main host/server immediately tried to throw another staff member under the bus — “Oh, they must’ve forgotten your order.” Adorable. Except at the 55‑minute mark, when I reminded him again, I also reminded the gentleman with snakes tattooed all over his right forearm that he was the one who took our order. Not the poor person he tried to blame. And right on cue — as if the universe wanted comedic timing — the kitchen finally walked out with our food. An hour later. My kids were basically turning into pumpkins. So I made a sarcastic comment: “Oh wow, finally — we were about to leave.” And this man, without an ounce of apology, goes: “I can cancel the rest of your dinner order if you want.” Oh, we wanted. We gladly did. We finished the appetizers (which only arrived after the first complaint), and THANKS TO THE STAFF AT The Curry Leaves (6502 Lonetree Blvd) whom I called while kids finished their appetizers and salvaged the night like responsible parents who refuse to let hunger win with an order of 2 YUMMY MASALA DOSAS, which we craved the whole evening :) I will definitely miss getting the call alerts from the POROTTAS staff and making the trip to the restaurant whenever oldmonk beer became available!! But hey — pride is expensive, I guess. So thank you, POROTTAS, for all the yummy meals over the years. Truly. But after this experience? My family won’t be coming back. Because my pride is a bitter pill to swallow — and unfortunately, it was the only thing served on time

The food is great. Tried thalapakatti mutton briyani it was good. But dosa and chutneys are not up to the mark. Pomfret fish is OK mutton ghost slightly sweeter may be ee requeated for medium spice. Porotta is good. Note:THEY HAVE ROBOTS SERVING TO TABLES. I AM SURE KIDS WILL ENJOY..

The staff is welcoming and the atmosphere is also nice but we go to restaurants for the food…that is where for me its a big no…firstly everything that we ordered starting form idli dosa to biriyani was served cold which baffled me how can dosa be served cold…the chutneys was cold out of the freezer…the sambar was the only side that came out decent…the biriyani looked promising but as i am vegetarian i cannot comment on the taste…another thing that really made me think about the whole experience was they even charge for a sprinkle of onion, tomato…i have never experienced anything like this in any restaurant around here…payment warning…we were charged extra for paying on card…so all in all we left the place with a bitter taste about the management but the staff tried their level best to make things palatable…so the one star goes only to them😀😀😀
