Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

We went to Portia’s Cafe today and I cannot wait to come back. This is a hidden gem and I had the best lunch here. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which was served cold which is different than what I’m used to, but it is delicious. The BLT wrap has coconut bacon and is so so good, I want to try making coconut bacon at home. The curry soup was excellent. We also had the mushroom blend drink and chai latte with soy milk. My boyfriend loved the mushroom drink so much we went to the little market owned by Portia a few doors down and got the mushroom blend to make at home. We had a beautiful window seat for lunch and the vibes were great. The place is decorated with art and feels cozy and inviting. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. I’m not vegetarian or vegan but this food is excellent and made with a lot of care. Food came out quickly but we weren’t rushed. I’ll be back soon.

Came once and it was the better and the second time not so much. Took 15 minutes just to get checked in and our order placed. Hummus was a joke. Runny with no flavor and hardly any vegetables for $8. How do you mess up hummus? Wrap was actually pretty good, but there were some wilted pieces of lettuce in it. We were never even checked on and didn't have any water on our table nor did anyone ask if we wanted refills. And to top it off it looked like there was mold growing on on my cup...? Whatever it was it was disgusting and probably unhygienic. Safe to say I won't back, and I'm extremely disappointed with this experience.

Portia’s Café is one of those spots you visit once…and then wonder why you didn’t find it sooner. The waffles alone are worth the trip—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and somehow always perfect. Pair that with their delicious mushroom latte (trust me, it’s way better than it sounds), and you’ve officially upgraded your morning. I also love that Portia’s carries locally sourced honey, essential oil blends, and other small-batch goodies. It’s the kind of place where you can grab breakfast and pick up something unique to take home. If you’re looking for a cozy, thoughtful, and delicious experience, do yourself a favor and stop by. Portia’s Café never misses.
