Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

We're done ordering from Portland Pie Waterville. The issues with the food from this eatery are many. On one of our first attempts, a gluten free pie looked like someone toasted a crust and then just threw food on top randomly. It was so crunchy I could barely eat it. The most recent and the straw that broke the camel's back was finding AN ENTIRE PIECE OF WAX PAPER BAKED INTO THE PIZZA. We got the food last night and decided to save that pizza and see if some of the mad grease on it would run off. It was so much greasier than previous orders that the bottom of the box was wet. We decided to try reheating it on a nonstick pan. When we pulled it apart we found an entire sheet of wax paper inside the dough. All wrapped within the dough as if someone just grabbed dough and paper and paid zero attention when they started rolling out the dough. I paid almost $40 for a pizza I can't eat. I will NOT be ordering again.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt I needed to share my experience. I ordered something as simple as french fries, and what I got looked—and tasted—like they had been forgotten in the fryer for half an hour. They were extremely burnt, inedible, and honestly an embarrassment for any place that serves food. When the waitress,Paige, brought out my BURNT fries and I brought them to her attention, she said " Oh I did notice that". (they never should have been served). Of course, they were not even edible (unless you like eating charcoal). When I politely told the waitress that I didn’t want to be charged for them, boy, you could tell she didn't like that at all. I didn't get any. more smiles from her. She did take it off my bill ($7.99) but she was not happy about it. Instead of apologizing or offering to fix the issue, she was dismissive, rude, and completely unprofessional—as if I was inconveniencing her by pointing out their mistake. Between the charred food and the hostile service, this was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. There are plenty of places that know how to cook fries and treat customers with basic respect. This is not one of them. (not on this day anyway)

Quality has GONE DOWN HILL! I used to order every Friday from this place for the kids to have pizza and me a turkey sandwich. I specifically asked when placing a to go order to PLS LIGHTLY TOAST, I just had oral surgery. Well the pictures speak for themselves. And literally 3 small , I mean small piece of turkey for $16.80 🤯 Did they run out cus yesterday was Thanksgiving? I was going to just transfer the insodes to bread that's chewable at home BUT WHAT IS THERE TO TRANSFER! A WHOLE LOT OF STUFFING, AND 3 PIECES OF TURKEY 🙄 I just said forget it, threw it away cus half the pieces if turkey were dry as he'll anyways & made a bowl of cereal for dinner instead. I will not be handing my money over AGAIN TO FEEL DISAPPOINTED, 2ND TIME SHAME ON ME. IF anyone who works here reads this, feel free to message back and explain where the ball was dropped.
