Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Punjabi Dhaba in Ridgeland, MS, is an exceptional hidden gem for anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine served in a warm, welcoming environment. This buffet-style restaurant also offers the option to order from an extensive à la carte menu, ensuring there’s something for everyone from seasoned Indian food lovers to first timers. The buffet layout is impressive in both variety and quality. A standout right from the start was the house salad, made memorable by an unexpectedly delicious dressing that was tangy, creamy, and perfectly complemented the fresh greens. Among the vegetarian options, the mixed vegetables were well prepared, tender, flavorful, and rich in spices without being overpowering. I sampled just about everything on the buffet, and I can honestly say every dish delivered, but a few selections truly shone. The goat curry was tender and deeply spiced, cooked to perfection. The butter chicken** was rich and velvety, with a savory tomato-based sauce that was impossible to resist. The chicken pakora offered a crispy, golden exterior with juicy chicken inside, and the vegetable biryani was fragrant and fluffy, full of aromatic rice and subtle heat. The Palak Paneer, a creamy spinach dish with paneer cubes, was comforting and earthy. The garlic naan was served hot and fresh to the table, the perfect companion to mop up the flavorful sauces. Dessert was the finale that tied the experience together. The saffron kheer, an Indian rice pudding, was luxuriously creamy, subtly sweet, and fragrant. Paired with Falooda and the Gajjar Halwa, a warm carrot pudding with nuts and dried fruits, it evoked flavors reminiscent of sweet potato casserole, a delightful and nostalgic ending. Overall, Punjabi Dhaba is a must visit for lovers of Indian cuisine. Whether you're in the mood to explore the buffet or want a custom meal off the menu, you're in for an experience that's both authentic and satisfying.

The food was very delicious & friendly staff! We celebrated a birthday while we were there & they shook his hand after they sang. You could tell they were a little confused at first just with a different culture & language barrier. But they made our birthday celebrations so special!

I bought takeout for the first time today. Service was great, great atmosphere. I paid $50.25 for Butter chicken, Tandoori chicken, garlic naan and rice pudding. The portion size of the rice was very small. I don’t even get my garlic naan. The food is delicious however I just wish I could have gotten the garlic naan I paid for to have with it being I had very little rice. I will try dining in for a better experience then I will change star rating. Thank you!
