Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

If you’re looking for authentic Salvadoran food made with heart, love, and tradition, PUPUSA 503 Salvadoran Kitchen is a place you absolutely need to visit. 📍 267 N Cannon Blvd, Kannapolis, NC From the moment the food arrived at the table, you could tell this was the kind of cooking that comes from family recipes and real passion for sharing culture. The pupusas were phenomenal — perfectly golden on the outside and generously filled with melty cheese and savory goodness inside. Paired with the fresh curtido and flavorful salsa, every bite was comforting, warm, and incredibly satisfying. The fried pork with yuca was another standout. The pork was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the yuca was perfectly fried and soft inside. The fresh cabbage slaw and house sauce tied everything together beautifully with a refreshing balance. And the sopa de res… wow. A hearty bowl full of tender beef, corn, carrots, zucchini, and herbs in a rich broth that tastes like it’s been simmering with care for hours. The rice and fresh toppings on the side make it a complete, comforting meal that feels like something a Salvadoran grandmother would proudly serve at home. Soo good! Must try. My pupusa was super fresh and cheesy. My only regret is not ordering out of the case because everyone food looked delicious. Love my strawberry tres leches. The place is impeccable with lots of indoor and outdoor seating

Fantastic, authentic, piping-hot papusas!! We asked for ours with garlic (yes, on all of them!) and they were delicious. We are vegetarian and they had enough vegetarian options to make us happy. The yuca fries were crispy outside, and soft and creamy inside, just perfect. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant itself is clean, open and airy. Can’t wait to go back!
