Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

I went to Pura Vida Açaí Cafe with my daughter, and we both absolutely loved our açaí bowls. They were incredibly delicious and fresh—hands down the best bowls I’ve ever had. I got the Tico bowl and my daughter got the volcano bowl. My daughter couldn’t stop saying she wished she had gotten a bigger one! For those concerned about the price: you truly get what you pay for. Every bite was worth it, and you can taste the quality and freshness in every ingredient. We’ll definitely be going back. If you want the best, go to Pura Vida Açaí Cafe—you won’t be disappointed!

I come to get an açai bowl a couple times a week and even him a part of the rewards. The male owner is amazing he is always very nice and happy to service. However, today I walked in with my sister and the Lady owner walked up to the counter already posturing herself to have an attitude didn’t greet us until she said with an attitude “what do you need?” After a very short interaction full of attitude she finally had our order, I mentioned I had rewards, She rolled her eyes aggressively, grabbed the store phone, scanned my code, and when the price went down because I had a reward available, she slammed the phone onto the counter and said a very aggressively “well I guess I’m not making rent today am I” then walked in back and made our bowls. when they were finished she aggressively slid them across the counter at us and said “your bowls are done” when we asked her to go lids, She rolled her eyes and scoffed gave them to us and did not even tell us to have a good day. Very disappointed in this interaction as I have been coming very often for months

Have loved Pura Vida since my second pregnancy when I followed the truck around KC 😆 The açaí speaks for itself while Ethan and his staff are easy to order from and talk to. There are a few different kinds of acai around KC, this is the best hands down!
