Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

There is definitely some great Indian culinary establishments in Renton. But sometimes you just want something quick, casual, and tasty. That place is Rice and Curry. Owned by Gurminder Kaur and family, Rice and Curry is located in the heart of Downtown Renton, across the street from the Piazza. As small as it, the place is surprisingly busy. Traffic is particularly high on weekends where many from fans of Indian culinary delights come to converge for a nice meal. Most of the favorites are here, butter chicken, tikka masala, pakoras - fresh na'an. It's there. As for me, I started with an appetizer of fresh samosa and chutney. I also ordered the traditional chicken curry with garlic na'an. My friend ordered the buttered chicken with a side of basmati rice. Let's not forget some tasty mango lassi to make the meal complete. Come on down to Rice and Curry, as you are. The food will be hot fresh and tasty, and have that Indian flair that will have coming back for another serving! #riceandcurry #riceandcurryrenton #supportrentoneats

Since I was in South Renton I had to check out this place what all the buzz is about re this place. Well I received such a warm welcome from RJ & his charming aunt Rinky. The place was clean , peaceful & relaxing. The food was served in a timely manner, it was mouthwatering with generous portions . Take some home because you have to leave room for the mango ice cream made with love. 💕

We discovered this charming bistro-style Indian restaurant purely by chance, and are so glad we did! Rice n Curry is absolutely charming in their ambience- bright, cheery, and offers that perfect balance of being cozy and yet not at all claustrophobic like most Indian eateries are. The location is perfect, with ample parking, patio seating optional, and offered huge windows to gaze out for the short time our order took to arrive. We ordered Chukandar Chicken Tikka for starters, and enjoyed every bit of the perfectly-cooked succulent morsels, seasoned perfectly. For main course, we had Garlic naan and Bhuna ghosht (reduced lamb curry). Naans were hot, perfectly crispy-edged and soft. The bhuna ghosht was different from the other versions I had tried at different Indian restaurants, but in a good way. Usually they are more onion heavy, but the Rice-n - curry version had it more in a tomato rich gravy, savory and perfectly cooked, and made the perfect pairing with the naan. Host RJ and Rinky were warm and friendly and stopped by to chat, and were wonderful. The portions were generous, and perfect for two hungry people, who wanted a simple protein heavy meal. We didn't order desserts, as we were full from the meal. Pricing was perfectly reasonable, and service was excellent. Greatly recommend to anyone who wants to go and have a great experience in homely Indian dining.
