I had a really nice visit at Ruby Slipper. The fried green tomatoes are a must, some of the best I’ve ever had. They were perfectly cooked and really flavorful. The beignets were also good, though a bit smaller than some of the others you can find around Pensacola. I ordered the catfish and grits, which I was really looking forward to, but it ended up being a little underwhelming for me. The dish was very rich with the salty, buttery catfish and the creamy grits, but it could have used something acidic or fresh to break up those flavors and textures. That said, it definitely wouldn’t stop me from coming back and trying something else on the menu. Overall it was a good experience with great ambiance and friendly service.

Our server was good and well informed about the dishes. The Bloody Mary was great and my Creamy Vanilla Spiced Latte was very good. We had a table of 5 and some folks loved their food and others though it was just okay. The good, the sweet heat chicken and French toast bites were awesome, cinnamon swirl pancakes, biscuits. and bananas foster pancakes were great! The peacemaker eggs Benedict was good. The shrimp in the Migas tasted like they weren't deveined even though they were.

Had breakfast at Ruby Slipper this morning and was wonderful!!! We arrived around 9:45 with 15 minutes left in happy hour. They offer half off their drinks during happy hour. I had a peach Bellini and a ruby mimosa and my husband had an Irish coffee. He tasted it and hurried to order another one before the happy hour ended. I ordered the Migas and a side biscuit with sausage gravy and both my husband and son had the sweet heat chicken and French toast bites. My migas were delicious! The biscuit and gravy was also good but nothing really that made it stand out. The chicken and French toast according to my son was hands down the best breakfast he had ever had. He loves chicken and waffles bites now he said he’ll be looking for chicken and French toast lol. The restaurant was clean and the staff was all very friendly. Our server was attentive and provided good suggestions. We will definitely be back!
