I researched reviews and so glad I did. Early Saturday dinner near the theatre and the staff at the hostess desk was so welcpming. Seating choices were dining room, tavern side, patio or speakeasy. No pressure to sit where it was convenient for the server. Server came out to patio often, never felt forgotten or rushed. Food was delicious, fairly priced for the quality, and lots of variety to choose from. Highly recommend!

We had the most warm welcome to this restaurant. We were rolling through town on our way home after a weekend in hill country. Nadine, (I hope that was her name.) was very pleasant and knew the menu. She repeated the specials for my husband since he wasn’t listening the first time (🤦🏻♀️). She was great and the food was wonderful. My husband got the salmon dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I got the chicken panini, which had a spicy aïoli, arugula, and tomato on a warm bun. The bread was side, the chicken tender. I also had a cup of the tomato bisque. It was slightly salty but good overall with a great consistency. The restaurant was small (max occupancy 75) with the restaurant on one side and the bar area on the other. There were a few tables on the sidewalk out front too. They also have cilantro mashed potatoes (that isn’t on the regular menu and is evidently a special item) we ordered them for the salmon, but the waitress came back and said they had run out. Before that, however, she had brought a sample for us to try. They were delicious! So if you see them on the menu or if they have them as a special, definitely order them! We will most assured be back to this restaurant. This was our first time, but it certainly will not be our last. As I said before, the staff were very warm and welcoming, and the food was fantastic!

I hate to leave an average review because I do really like it here! The atmosphere is cozy, the staff are all very kind and welcoming. But I did have an incident with the food I ordered. I have gone to Sam’s Table twice, my first time was lovely but my second time wasn’t so… I have ordered the Rib-Eye steak (cooked: medium), the regular mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli. The meal was alright, pretty good for a smaller town. But as soon as I left the restaurant, I felt off. When I returned to my home I felt sick and then I threw up for about 2 hours. My partner ordered the same meal as me and he said he was feeling a bit sick too, but I was the only one who threw up. I’m not prone to a weak stomach and I can definitely “chow down” lol so portion size wasn’t a problem. I would still recommend this place to other people, I won’t take my one bad experience to heart. But I did want to have this as a warning, if something isn’t sitting right with your stomach in the beginning, don’t continue to eat it even if you know the restaurant is trust worthy. I plan on taking a break from going to Sam’s Table but once I return, I just won’t order the same thing again. But overall it’s a great restaurant!!
