Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Turkish friends brought us here and assured us that this food is the closest to Turkiye that they have found in all of San Antonio. Food was great. Had a wide variety of appetizers and meats so we got to try a bunch of dishes. Best Kunefe I have had outside of Qatar! I can't wait to try it in Turkiye some day! Turkish coffee and tea were also very tasty! Service was really good. A number of the staff is Turkish and our friends were able to order the authentic things! Will come again!

Beautiful restaurant interior. Staff is from Turkey, and food shows. Dishes are well balanced, fresh and not overtly heavy, but have generous portions. The pita bread is so fresh it is made to order. In particular the eggplant salad was so delicious and visually attractive it could be photographed for a magazine. My family and I will be coming back here.

I'm taking the opportunity to revisit my previous "stars-only" review because I feel that taking the time to detail the experiences I've had with Selda is worthwhile, and that Selda's staff and food are more than worthy of the effort. We (my family of 3) have dined at Selda twice now - once in a desperate rush for calories in a specific area of town, and then again on a Friday during the holiday crush that prevented me from posting immediately, because I was eager to dine with Selda again. Both times, we experienced a warm, comfortable environment that reflected a formal dining experience, but felt relaxing and casual at the same time. It was the perfect blend of highly professional staff and formal arrangement, coupled with a genuine affability that put us all at ease in a way that I associate with being surrounded by caring relatives during two of the most memorable meals I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying in the last decade. My young daughter was treated with delight and respect, and we enjoyed every interaction with the staff attending to us with such authentic care and mindfulness. The stuffed dates were incredibly dreamy, the shrimp appetizers a sizzling delight. The lamb was so tender and tasty that my first grade child, much in want of her two front teeth (and half of her bottom set, too), was able to enthusiastically enjoy and ask for more of. The seafood I ordered was excellent (and also enjoyed by my little one). The beans and rice served alongside the main dishes were perfectly curated and fabored by all. This restaurant provided me with my first-ever restaurant experience with eggplant, and boy, did they deliver! I was shocked that an ingredient I'd previously thought unpalatable could be so tasty. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to sample all the pleasant dishes delivered to our table due to my own food allergies, but I hear great things about the gluten-containing delicacies. Should the service and taste continue at this level or beyond, Selda will become one of the few staple restaurants in San Antonio that I deliberately make plans to enjoy personally, and with friends and family. I eagerly look forward to my next dining experience at Selda, and sharing many more wonderful meals there with people I love. Shoutout to Mr. Zorro, and all the excellent staff who made our visits so delightfully memorable! I cannot wait until next time.
