Seong Sushi Bar in Juneau keeps things intimate, with a small dining room and a dedicated sushi bar area that gives the space a cozy, neighborhood feel. The menu spans sushi alongside a selection of other Pan-Asian dishes, making it approachable whether you are in full sashimi mode or dining with a mixed- craving crew. Service was a bright spot from the start. Staff were very friendly, quick, and efficient, keeping things moving smoothly without feeling rushed. On the sushi front, the rice leaned a bit dense for my preference, but credit where it is due. The rice-to-fish ratio was refreshingly restrained and closer to proper Japanese proportions than the overly rice-heavy builds you sometimes see in more Westernized spots. That alone was appreciated. The sashimi selection is limited but was solid across the board, with the salmon standing out as a highlight. The clear star of the table, however, was the seared pepper fin tuna. Nicely executed, well balanced, and easily the dish worth circling on the menu. Bottom line: A friendly, efficient sushi stop in Juneau with respectable fish quality and one must-order tuna dish.

Hands down the best sushi I’ve ever eaten. I always look for good sushi when I travel, and it’s unfortunate that this place is so far away from home for me! Fresh salmon. Fresh ingredients. Server was very friendly. If you are in town, this is a must stop location!

Wow! What a delightful meal and experience. We came here early at opening time and had the place to ourselves. The sushi was some of the freshest we've ever had while the fried rice was soft and fluffy, and other entrees superb. I wish I could transport this place to our hometown!
