At 6 pm on a Saturday, I was expecting a more crowded restaurant. Color me surprised when I saw it was only half full. I didn’t get our waitress’s name but she was attentive, friendly, and timely. We ordered crab rangoons for our appetizer. Crispy skin, a beautiful golden brown, and freshly made, these were appetizers to be proud of. The filling was hot and savory, cream cheese mixed with real crab. Not imitation crab, the real deal. And that sweet and spicy chili sauce added amazing flavor. The only downside was that I found the sauce to be kind of thin. I had purchased the Pad Kee Mao with chicken. The portions were an impressive size and the taste did not disappoint. Even after stir frying, the vegetables still had a good amount of crunch and texture, nothing limp or squishy. The chicken was a bit dry but still flavorful and worked well with the dish overall. Though I did find it a little salty, the tea and water provided helped a lot. As a heads up, I requested a more mild version of my dish. The Pad Kee Mao is normally very spicy so if you aren’t used to spicy foods, just make a request to your server to reduce the spice level. It has been years since I went here but I’m glad to see the quality was as good as I remembered.

My favorite thai restaurant in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. The curry set is a fantastic lunch special.

I love Thai food and tried this place while here on a visit. We tried the dumplings, wonton soup, and a rice noodle dish. The flavors were good, I ordered a 3 spice, which was a bit lower than expected. The vegetables were cooked well. The dumplings were very dough-y. The wonton soup was good and not greasy.
