This place is all of the best of Southern hospitality and food. The food was amazing. My partner in crime is totally in love with it. I loved the trains running all over the building. I need to bring back my family.

This place is all of the best of Southern hospitality and food. The food was amazing. My partner in crime is totally in love with it. I loved the trains running all over the building. I need to bring back my family.
"Atmosphere" is lower due to tables and chairs in bad need of repair and upgrading. Service was excellent. Food was good. The only thing that kept it from being 5 stars was that the request for the catfish to be cooked extra crispy didn't get honored (the catfish was still good). Also, the hush puppies were a bit bland. The vegetables (butter beans and blackeyed peas) were cooked and tasted Southern good - well done, NOT mushy, with just enough salt. I asked which cobbler had the most fruit (some have pitifully few pieces and are mostly pie crust). I was steered toward the blackberry and it was delicious with vanilla ice cream, having quite a few berries and just the right amount of crust.

I enjoyed a delicious pot roast, gravy and mashed potatoes, fried okra. Great food and service, loved the nostalgia, great location. There’s a reason it was crowded on a Tuesday after Christmas. Their Blackberry cobbler and ice cream was amazing!! Can’t wait to go back.
