Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Yesterday was my first time going to Silver and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a nice dining room and the crowd was a bit thin when I arrived at 12:30pm but quite a few tables were filled by the time I left around 2pm. I met a friend for lunch there and saw quite a few dishes on the menu that looked good. I’m a sucker for a good Chicken Piccata and after my friend pointed out it was part of the healthy offerings (<600 calories), it made my decision easier. It was a decent portion and cooked well, plenty of lemon and capers to give it snap. On the side was a cauliflower mash and some steamed garlic spinach. Square meal, square deal, I’ll be going back.

Silver is a classic spot in the Cathedral Heights area. We love coming here for breakfast or brunch. The juice is always freshly squeezed and the coffee and tea is hot and piping. Expect large portion sizes, so come hungry. This place is always fun and every time we come here, we always walk away satisfied.

I went here with my girlfriends on a Saturday night after a performance at the Cathedral. The place was not busy, it was practically empty. Me and one of my friends ordered the pan seared scallops and it was not good. The scallops tasted dirty? They were also overcooked, rubbery, and burnt. The veggies were also undercooked. My friend decided to just eat it even though she didn’t like it, I could not. I ended up getting the steak frites which was better, but still mediocre. My server was amazing though! I can’t remember his name but he was polite, attentive, and took care of us! Overall I’m not sure if I’d eat here again based on the food, but the service was good.
