Chef Malik took the time to explain the menu and the history behind the dishes, which made the experience even better. Excellent customer service all around. This is officially my new go-to lunch spot every week at The Aux!

Sissy Mary is a real find! Located in the communal space The Aux in Evanston, Sissy Mary is mostly a take-out spot, but there are tables and chairs available if you’d like to dine in. Our party of five decided to eat there and had a wonderful experience. A tablecloth and the warm, attentive service from the owner, Malik, made it feel truly special. The food was outstanding! We shared appetizers and the Hakuna Matata sampler platter family-style, and everything was so delicious. We will definitely be back!

I absolutely can’t get enough of Sissy Mary’s Kitchen Jollof Rice Bowl with smoked turkey! My daughter and I always make sure to get an extra side of rice. The flavors are always on point, and you can truly taste the love behind every bite.
