Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Hidden gem if you like spicy mala hot pot. Yes, it is spicy even at the 3 rating out of 5, so be careful when you specify the spicy rating. Also, this is one of a few King County health ratings = Excellent, which I think is impressive given all the raw ingredients are available for everyone to take to build the pot. After you choose the soup or sauce base, you then walk through the ingredient aisle to take whatever you want from veggies to meats. After you pay per weight, you ho back to your table and wait for 5 minutes or so. Then they will bring out to you fully cooked Hotpot on a small stove to keep it hot. Overall experience was great. Food was great. Too bad the location is not the best otherwise this place will be packed all the time. Compared to Boiling Pot this place delivers a real punch.

You fill a bowl up with the ingredients for your hot pot and pay by the pound. You take it to the register and decide on the hot pot type you want, then flavor. I got the traditional hot pot (pictured) with a medium spiced level and it was delicious! My husband got a dry hot pot, the Rose Mala Xiang Guo. He said it was yummy and had good flavor. Definitely spicy even at the most mild spice level. Would definitely come back next time we are in town!

I’ve been here a few times but never had a chance to write a review because I didn’t have any pictures 🙂 On Saturday, I dined in and ordered Mala Spicy #3. I added veggies, seafood, and beef. You can make your own sauce (minced garlic. Chile oil pepper, peanut sauce, cilantro...yummy) What you see in the picture is only $20 — you pick own vegetables meats seafood... and they weigh it by the pound, and you choose from stir fry or soup. Healthy, delicious, and reasonably priced. Plus, there’s plenty of parking, and the servers are always friendly.
