Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

This is for Dockside. Firstly, our waitress/server Payton was exceptional. She checked in with us frequently and made sure our drinks remained full. Great job from her! The atmosphere was ok. It wasn't very loud even with several tvs playing sports. It did have a kind of warehouse vibe. The restroom was clean. No real complaints just nothing extraordinary. It is probably better when the weather is better and you can sit comfortably outside on the patio/deck. Now let's talk about the food. Was it good? Yes. Was it cooked well? Mostly, yes. Was it plated nice? Yes. Was it worth $180 for 4 people? Absolutely not. I'll try to give a simple overview of our order. First a blackberry bourbon cocktail. Very well balanced. Appetizers were the buffalo pimento cheese dip and hamburger spring rolls. Both very good. I personally loved the buffalo pimento cheese and ate most of it by myself! Main courses were 2 Ale house burgers, the ribeye, and fried seafood plate. No complaints on the burgers. Provolone cheese was requested, but they were unfortunately out. American and Cheddar made the substitute. The fresh cut fries were very good as well. The ribeye is up next. Good flavors and cooked to a very nice medium rare. It was not a very tender ribeye and some parts were hard to chew. There were several gristle pieces and sinew strands throughout. Now let's talk about the fried fish plate. The actual fish was fried excellent and had a very good flavor. The oysters and shrimp were heavily battered and over fried. They were also on the oilly side. If they had been fried the same as the fish, it would have really elevated this dish. The ranch slaw was a very pleasant surprise. I've never had something like that. The tartar and cocktail sauces were excellent compliments to the fish. Dessert ends things with a salted caramel bread pudding and a slice of cheesecake. The cheesecake with strawberry puree was delicious. It was very rich and creamy. Now that warm bread pudding was the bee's knees. Very very good. This place is really good, I just don't believe it's worth the price tag. My overall score would probably be a 3.5. Special occasions or sometime when you can enjoy the view of the water and the outside dinning area could make it seem better value. Try it out for yourself!

We are local to the area, so we visit here a lot along with the other location. Today he chose the daily special, which included a fried breast with slaw, and mojo sauce. I love the chicken tenders and loaded potatoe tots. A nice side salad with the best textured croutons. See y'all next time!

Super friendly staff. They win the hospitality award for Tuscaloosa. The red snapper poboy sandwich was good. Great dips for appetizers. Casual and fun atmosphere with a few little games of you want to hang out.
