Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

A great family run restaurant on Manchester Avenue, easy access from Forest Park and the Botanical Garden! The food is excellent, with the appropriate spices and quality ingredients. We always order from the lamb dishes, like lamb shank and Sultan pilau. Worth a stop for an excellent lunch or dinner. The lentil soup included with lunch (until 3pm) is outstanding as well. Our favorite lunch in St. Louis.

Sultan Mediterranean Restaurant just reopened after completing a full renovation, and the transformation is impressive. You can immediately tell a lot of care went into creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The food was exceptional fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and generous portions. Every dish tasted thoughtfully prepared, and you could really sense the authenticity in the recipes. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything came out perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The service was just as memorable. The wait staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about our dining experience. It’s clear this is a family owned restaurant, and that personal pride shows through in both the hospitality and the quality of the food. Overall, Sultan Mediterranean is absolutely worth a visit whether you’re a longtime fan or trying it for the first time. The renovation has breathed new life into the space, and the combination of great food and heartfelt service makes it a standout dining experience. Highly recommended!

Really really good food and a fantastic discover of new flavours. A tasty lemonade with mint with in the atmosphere of arabic music! Flavours that we know but with good making and a particular touch of the sultan kitchen. Finished my plate even if i was full... And aded a tea to complete the meal. The lentilles soup was a Little too salty for me it's the only think i couldn't finish with pity because really good.
