Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Wasn't huge on the food; my wife and I disliked our dishes. I got the chicken roshambeaux benedict, and the sauce didn't taste great. The chicken and home fries were also very bland. Her wrap had a mysterious hard thing (?) in it that she described, and her fries were terrible. The service was fast and polite, and the food was appropriately priced.

Always a great meal at Sunnyside Cafe! Yes you can go to a big chain, but this place has great food, charm and fantastic service. When I go here (several times now), I always get the Sunnyside breakfast. Eggs scrambled, bacon, the cheese grits, which are to die for, and then English muffin. They have a great selection of homemade preserves which you can’t go wrong with any flavor. When I’m really hungry, a side of French toast or pancakes, always helps to fill me up. The food is served, hot, and more impressively quickly. The menu is extensive with both breakfast and lunch options. So you have a selection to choose from. Depending on when you go, there can be a wait because the restaurant is popular. But they do a great job of getting the people through quickly and getting you seated. Service has been excellent. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and quick to get you your beverages and take your order. Food comes out pretty quickly.

First time to Sunny Side. The food was just ok. The menu was large and they had a good variety unfortunately what my husband and I ordered was mediocre. I got the praline stuffed French toast, it was said to be stuffed with maracapone, and apple butter but it wasn’t Stuffed with anything. When asking for crispy bacon I was told they don’t make bacon to order that it’s all cooked together in the oven and I could not be guaranteed crisp bacon. I’d say there are better options.
