Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

A, sort of, comedy of errors on my part. My wife wanted me to pick up dinner and saw the menu and told me to grab dinner. I get there to be told the food is available 10-2. I look in the case and send pics to my wife. She tells me to get some soup and a dessert. I saw the tiramasu chai pudding and grabbed that. Did I think that has espresso, which has caffeine (which my wife is not supposed to have)? No, I did not. Did I even realize the soups I bought were frozen? Wasn't paying attention. I got home, and my wife said the pudding was different. She did eat the whole thing. I cut the carton away from the block of soup and put it in a pot to melt it (slowly, of course). Eventually, the soup was ready to serve. My wife loved it. She loves lentils. She could tell everything was fresh. She has not yet tried the peanut butter cup (the secret second dessert I bought for her (yes, that was also frozen)). The service was very inviting and we will go back to see what others things I can confuse.

I got the vegan tuna melt and broccoli leek soup. Delicious, hearty, and nourishing! Owner and cafe staff were very helpful and friendly. Definitely coming back! Reminds me of a cafe that should exist in the iconic Stars Hallow “universe” (Gilmore Girls). Small business at its best!

I specifically called to ask what time they were open until. Kathleen told me 4. I drove there from 20 minutes away hoping to stock up on bulk herbs for tea. I got there at 3:15. They were closed. I saw two employees inside and got their attention. One woman opened the door and apologized and said they were closed. I told her I called and was informed they were open until 4. She said the cash register was closed. I offered to wait outside for one ounce of a specific herb and I would pay in cash. Seeing I was misinformed about the hours, and I drove from 20 minutes away, I figured it was the least they could do. She still told me no, that there was no way to weigh out an ounce seeing register was closed. I then said ok, I’ll just order all my herbs online then, and you’ll lose out on a returning customer. All she said then was “have a nice day.” I’m not shopping there anymore. I use to think that it was convenient to shop here instead of having to order my herbs online. Now after how I was treated overall by the staff, I feel unimportant and would much rather support other businesses online.
