Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

From when we entered to when we left, we were given excellent service from the staff here. We came here for lunch with a group of 8. Most of the group went half and half for boba and drinks. The drinks came out fairly quick. Can’t tell if it’s a powdered fruit tea, but I enjoyed it. The boba wasn’t freshly made, but not a big deal. I noticed the combo (special drink + bao bun) was available so went with that and the Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen. The bone broth is made of chicken and pork. The portions are massive and the bao bun was also pretty large. I was not able to finish all of my food. Food was amazing. I asked for chili oil and it had a smokiness, and still put out some spice. Richard was great, and was helpful answering questions. He mentioned this opened up last October, and I’m surprised it’s not busier. If I’m in this area again, I’ll make sure to stop by.

We were very impressed and we will definitely be back. We ordered crab rangoons, a seafood ramen bowl and a stir fried shrimp ramen plate. The rangoons were melt in your mouth delicious, and both noodle dishes were well constructed and well cooked. We also had the fruit tea with popping pearls and it was delightful. The kitty robot that serves your food to the table is a nice touch that we enjoyed.

We went toTakumi on a Tuesday night after tennis matches at Veterans Park. The five of us decided to go based off of a recommendation of our friend's daughter, who is a student at UNA. The restaurant was clean, bright and decorated in an Asian theme. It wasn't crowded and we were sat immediately. Our waitress (she was excellent) was welcoming, accommodating and answered all of our questions before ordering. Four of us ordered the hibachi dinner (steak, steak, salmon and chicken and one ordered a ramen bowl. The food was delivered by a small novelty robot and the waitress made sure everything was correct. Reviews at the table were great from everyone. The Miso and Onion soups were given high praise. The ginger salad was really good, not watered down, like I've had from other places. The steaks were both cooked how they were ordered, and the salmon and chicken were both given two thumbs up. The raman bowl was also said to be good. I felt like portion size was adequate (I would have liked a few more veggies). My friends finished with what I think were wontons and they said they were really good too. The price is comparable to other hibachi places we have gone to and we would absolutely go back when visiting. On a side note, the store front was not busy the entire time we were there, but they looked very busy with to-go orders.
