Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

First time today. Wow they were busy had to park behind the movie theater. Im talking full restaurant, more people coming, people going. Very nice place. I ordered 4 street tacos and enchiladas..THANK YOU JESUS. I grew up in oxnard California with some of the best authentic Mexican food anywhere. And this place hit home. Street tacos were stuffed with meat, fresh cilantro and onions..8.5 out of 10. Got 2 asada and 2 pastor. So good. Chicken enchiladas were good as well. But I haven't had street tacos in 2 years. I will be back a few times a week for sure

I visited Taqueria La Estrella while on a business trip in Mineral Wells after my team chose it for lunch. We arrived after the lunch rush and were seated quickly. Service was friendly, though our waitress seemed very new and still figuring things out. Chips and salsa came out right away—the chips were a good thickness and great for dipping. The chips were memorable as they were dusted with a nice coat of cayenne seasoning. Salsa had a nice pleasant kick at the end. Very tasty’ Unfortunately, the guacamole was a major disappointment. It was literally just scooped avocado with nothing mixed in—no lime, onion, cilantro, or seasoning. Definitely not what I expected. I was not recommend! For mains, we had the daily special (crispy taco, enchilada, rice, and beans). It was filling but nothing memorable. A team member ordered the taco salad, which looked okay but also pretty average. Overall, the place feels authentic and the food is acceptable, but nothing really stood out. With limited restaurant choices in Mineral Wells, it’ll do if you’re craving Mexican food, to be fair I would really need to try this place for dinner because the menu does look appetizing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Newly remodeled and better than ever. Mr Salazar runs a good restaurant. Fajitas are great. The new cantina is awesome. Check it out soon!
