Tent City Taphouse has found its way into my weekday rotation, mostly because of its convenient downtown location for work lunches or a quick pre-event dinner. The menu is broader than your typical taphouse lineup, which keeps things interesting, and over several visits I’ve managed to try a good amount of it. Service is consistently welcoming and friendly, though depending on the season and staffing mix, it can swing between attentive and a bit uneven. Still, the overall attitude is positive, and you’re generally in good hands. The classic bar staples are where Tent City shines. Burgers, fish and chips, and especially the wings are all nicely done and solidly above average. When they stick to the familiar, they do it well. Some of the less traditional offerings don’t quite land the same way. The Chicken Katsu, pasta dishes, and particularly the poke bowl have been misses for me, feeling a bit out of step with the strengths of the kitchen. Overall, Tent City Taphouse is a dependable spot for a good meal, especially if you’re already in the area. Not a destination restaurant, but certainly a convenient and enjoyable option when you need one.

We did not have reservation but immediate seating. Order was taken quickly and food was served quickly. Not sure if the Pilsner was brewed there or not, but it was very good. Highly recommend. Cod was good/fresh and the batter was nice and thin. Lost a star because the fries had way too many ends & pieces. See pic.

Our tour guide was batting 1000 with his restaurant recs and this one was no different. Started with the duck fat fries and asked for them to be extra crispy!!!! Perfect and full of flavor!!! Main was their belgian waffle with chicken tenders and a scoop of pineapple-coconut ice cream!!! This is what heaven must be like!!! The ice cream paired beautifully with the chicken and waffle. Pure bliss!!! Service was excellent too despite the restaurant being crazy busy with all the tour groups!!
