Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Arrived 11:45am on Friday, not a lot of people and it eas very east to order and get a seat inside. Food was lovely, i had the Djolof Rice and the Maafe Bowl. Each was colorful, and flavorful. I had chicken with the djolof and egg with the maafe. Service was lovely, i was immediately given some tea and was welcomed very warmly. Atmosphere was nice, very peaceful and easygoing location.

An absolute hidden gem for lunch! The Maáfe Stew is fantastic - light and hearty flavors that taste like a great home-cooked meal. If you’ve never tried Senegalese food, stop waiting and experience an amazing cuisine! Note: location can be slightly confusing to reach, it’s easiest to get to by going from Steuart St and walking around on the outside.

We absolutely enjoyed our meal here. Very friendly staff, the owner lady (likely), and delicious food. Highly recommend if you're near ferry building.
