Easily the best Thai food in Charleston. I might even say best that I've ever had... and I don't really say that lightly because I've eaten at hundreds of Thai restaurants all around the world. The food was fresh, didn't have that heavy sensation. Wasn't overly fishy. There was such attention to little details - the eggplant was grilled separately on the green curry dish (I've honestly never had it that way) Not pictured was the Thom Ka Ga soup - amazing! Service was great... I'm not going to lie, the restaurant itself was a hole in the wall. I was a little hesitant. This place could easily survive as a high end restaurant in downtown Charleston. I might have a hard time getting Thai food from anywhere else in Charleston again. It was that good.

We visited Thailicious for dinner on a weekend night. Thailicious is a pretty small place, with a maximum capacity of 20-25 people. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming, and when we got there, the host greeted us and showed us to a table. We went through the menu and ordered the Thai Crispy Spring Rolls, the Tom Yum Chicken Soup, the Chicken Pad Thai, the Chicken Fried Rice with Basil, the Thai Iced Tea, and the Iced Taro. We got our iced teas. Both the iced teas were good, and it was a good start to our dinner. Then we had our soup and spring rolls. The Tom Yum soup was amazing! It was well-made, with good balance of spices and a combination of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors. Then we had the spring rolls, and they were crunchy and made with lettuce. They tasted really fresh and good appetizer to start our dinner. We got our dinner dishes, which were chicken pad Thai and chicken fried rice with basil. The pad Thai was a good dish with great flavors, complimented by fresh beans and scallions. The chicken fried rice with basil was a highlight of the night, we all loved it!The flavors were good, and the broccoli and carrots on top gave it a good taste. Thailicious is a hidden gem! They serve amazing food and the sweetest lady there always helps you with a smile on her face.

4.5 ⭐ Absolutely wonderful authentic bowl of Khao Soi. Well balanced base of coconut milk & curry. They'll ask you how spicy you want it (remember less is more). I was ecstatic to see they served Singha beer, so naturally I had to order one. I'm docking a half star for their Khao Soi for a few reasons: the chicken didn't seem poached in the broth - not as tender, but perhaps they're using specific cuts to avoid bones finding their way into customer dishes. Their fried egg noodles seemed to be just chow mein noodles. And lastly, no pickled mustard greens with the other garnishes... essential element to represent every flavor profile. Regardless, this was a mighty bowl of Khao Soi and still highly recommend if you're missing Thailand (or curious for an introduction).
