Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Ok let’s talk about great food with an amazing atmosphere. Ashen Rose located in downtown Greenville has one of the best menus. From steak bites , pepper jack cheese squares, several wraps and SO MUCH MORE you can’t go wrong. The owner is so friendly and polite along with her wait staff. Ashen Rose also has fun nights such as pint night, trivia night, and other fun activities. You can host special events in the connecting large room such as parties, showers. There is also a pool table and shuffle board for all to enjoy.

We passed through Greenville for a business meeting this week. I am from Indiana and my colleague was from the Dallas area. I just did a Google search and it said that The Ashen Rose was number 1 rated. So we said let's give it a try. And boy was I glad we did. It wasn't very busy at the time and had ample seating when we walked in. We had prompt service and asked our server for recommendations. She suggested the Reuben which my colleague ordered but the Chicken Corden Bleu sandwich sounded intriguing to me so I ordered it. When my sandwich came out and I bit into it it was one of the best sandwiches I EVER put in my mouth. The chicken-ham-cheese combo was excellent, but the bun took it over the top. I am a 64 year old man and this is the first time I have ever left a review of a restaurant because it was a very amazing culinary experience. If anyone is ever looking for a fantastic place to eat in Greenville...do yourself a favor and visit this place. BTW...the Reuben was pretty fantastic also.

I usually dont leave reviews, but thought maybe this would help others. On one hand, this may be your bag of tricks, but on the other hand, our experience with this establishments food was quite different. Stopped by to pick up an order for a friend in the hospital. Staff was indifferent and seem preoccupied. We ordered a hamburger and onion rings. The lady behind the bar placed the order in a bag, we paid and left. We were not thanked and she seem to be inconvenienced with our encounter. I asked her to put napkins, utensils, and condiments with the order. The food was not edible. Quite similar to the previous review with photo of burnt burger. You'll find the photo in the lowest of reviews from the brave soul who may have digested that one. The onion rings we over cooked, with burnt centers, and soaked in dirty or old grease that smelled. Needlessly to add, to our surprise, we didn't get any requested condiments as well. As a result, we will not ever use this establishment for anything. Personally found lacking, out dated, and tired staff. Really no need for management apologies, or we'll do better. We're way past that point. Perhaps improve your quality!
