Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Had a great dining experience here while visiting the area. Welcoming casual vibe, excellent service, and delicious food. Would highly recommend the trout, stroganoff (excellent), and cacio e pepe with steak. Ricotta dumplings were good not sure if I’d order again. Excellent sourdough bread!

The eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly. And the hollandaise was heavenly, I would definitely get this plate again. The steak was also cooked to a nice medium, pink in the middle, melt in your mouth. Both fries and breakfast potatoes had a nice crisp bite and tender in the middle. We did not have space for dessert, but will be back to try it.

The Copper Onion is a must when visiting Salt Lake City. According to its website, since its inception in 2010, Copper Onion has delivered a welcoming and approachable dining experience for all. Each dish is made in-house daily with a commitment to sourcing ingredients locally and sustainably. We were a party of 8 for dinner. We ordered the Carbonara, Wagyu Beef Stroganoff (highly recommend!), Rainbow Trout (comes with Turkish Yogurt and delicious Curried Lentils), and House Meatloaf. Our table also ordered Brussels sprouts and Risotto to share. The Carbonara, Beef Stroganoff, and House Meatloaf are Copper Onion Classics, according to the menu. Highly recommend!
