The Brown Fig is a must experience type of restaurant. Every review that I read was spot on. The atmosphere is great for date night or just chilling with friends. My husband and I dined there on Friday for our anniversary. Everything from the Food, the service and atmosphere was fantastic. We had cheese which was lit on fire with brandy, delicious, gyro platter, asparagus, a wine flight and more Everything was delicious. The staff in cannot even put in to words how impressed I was with there service. This is a must experience. I will be bring family and friends with me next time I go and yes the restaurant gets busy real fast so go early or make a reservation.

Food, drinks, and service were great! Atmosphere was eh. It felt like they didn’t care much about who came in wearing whatever so that really cramped the atmosphere for me. People wearing ball caps, ripped pants, band tee shirts, book bags, gay pride earrings. Immediately took the place down multiple notches from feeling like somewhere exquisite to on par with a casual neighborhood spot or sports bar. For the price, 2 drinks and 2 desserts ($48), and quality of food I was expecting a more refined and consistent atmosphere. Not the setting I’d choose if I wanted to go somewhere on a special occasion.

Was in Monroe for the weekend and a friend referred me to The Brown Fig, said it was delicious, and I trust her! Went straight to the bar, party of one, greeted quickly by 2 very friendly bartenders and ordered the Grand Old Fashion, which was spot on! Provided me with water without having to ask for it, perfect service! Enjoyed my drink and my new friends at the bar for a few sips and then I was asked what I would like to have for dinner. Asked about a few of their offerings and the female bartender was very knowledgable about their menu and made a few recommendations. I went with the Soluvaki with Shrimp as she suggested. She did not steer me wrong and offered to provide me with a menu if I wanted something else to drink, got a glass of Pinot, drank all my water before they brought that over, good transition. The Soluvaki with taziki and pita bread, with a cold orzo and fresh feta with veggies was so delicious, clean plate club!!!! Met the owner, she asked if I was enjoying my dinner, and she was super friendly as well! Enjoyed my solo night on Monroe at The Brown Fig thoroughly and I will be back with my husband and any friends that we can convince to make the drive! Great little downtown and great little quaint restaurant! I see you Monroe, and I see you too The Brown Fig....keep it up!!!
