Great little hit of freshness amongst the meaty grease of LA state capital. The Daily Beet specialises in health foods as well as vegan and veggie offerings. The menu is well thought out and accommodated well to our group which included a celiac, veggies and vegans- which is a big ask in the culture here! Nonetheless, the food was fresh and delicious and there was a plethora of offerings for everyone. Many of the non-vegan menu items had a “make it vegan option” whereby ingredients such as egg were swapped for tofu. Prices are reasonable- I had a breakfast burrito accompanied by a rather expensive cookie ($10, similar price to the burrito!) and a cream soda. Being close to the superdome, this would be a great spot for game day bites or before watching Taylor Swift perform her 3 hour set list on the eras tour.

I've just returned from the front lines of a culinary war zone: New Orleans. After days of my arteries waving a tiny white flag, surrendering to the relentless onslaught of deep-fried everything, I stumbled upon The Daily Beet. It was like finding a medic in the middle of the beignet-pocalypse. The breakfast burrito was so hearty and healthy, I think my cholesterol levels actually went down while I was eating it. The mushroom mocha latte was a delightful, earthy potion that probably cleansed my soul of last night's questionable decisions. And the PB&J protein shake? My muscles, still weeping from my workout, finally stopped threatening to unionize. Good food, great service, and a distinct lack of guilt-induced stomach gurgles. My body sent me a thank-you card. I'm sending one to The Daily Beet.

Stopped here during our annual reunion trip and the atmosphere was easy and stressfree. The available tables were clean and well lit. The menus are easy to read and the staff was knowledgeable. One thing I didnt know was they are a NO CASH establishment, card only. The food was fresh, flavorful, and a great amount compared to cost. Afterwards you bus your own table and leave feeling lighter and with more energy. My 7yr old loved the bowl and the smoothie.
