The Great Greek in Ocala is an absolute standout and easily one of the best Greek dining experiences I’ve had in the area. From the moment I walked in, everything felt fresh, vibrant, and authentic—the kind of place where you can tell real care goes into the food. I ordered the lamb skewers and lemon potatoes, and they were exceptional. The lamb skewers were perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned, with a slight char on the outside that added depth and richness to every bite. The flavor was bold but balanced, letting the quality of the lamb really shine without being overpowering. The lemon potatoes were unforgettable. They were soft and fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of crisp on the outside, coated in a bright, citrusy lemon flavor with what tasted like a subtle hint of chili oil that gave them a gentle, unexpected warmth. The combination of tangy lemon and light heat made them incredibly addictive and elevated what could’ve been a simple side into something memorable. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The restaurant itself was clean, modern, and inviting, with a cozy Mediterranean vibe that made it a great place to sit and savor the meal rather than rush through it. If you’re in Ocala and love well-crafted Mediterranean food with bold, fresh flavors, The Great Greek is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu, but I already know the lamb skewers and lemon potatoes will be hard to beat. Highly recommend!

Tried this place for the first time today and the food was fantastic!!! We called in 30 minutes in advance and I still had to wait another 10 minutes before it was ready so I would definitely recommend ordering ahead on Friday nights. We had the Great Greek Gyro and the Greek Salad Wrap, which I added gyro meat to. They were both fantastic, as was the feta fries on the side. I'd definitely say I'd like to come back as long as the wait time isn't as bad.

From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We ordered the Gyro Platter, and it was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. My wife and I enjoyed every bite, and even our little one was happy with the meal. The service was quick, friendly, and very attentive, which made the experience even better. It’s not always easy to find a spot where both adults and kids can enjoy the food equally, but this place delivered on all fronts. Highly recommend The Great Greek Mediterranean to anyone visiting Ocala—you’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit!
