I have to admit that I have always wrote off The Honey Paw. I feel bad admitting this, but there's so many places in Portland and the one time I had been in there before for a cocktail and desert I wasn't impressed. We went in last night with a large group - I started the night a bit skeptical (kind of forcing my mind to be open because people in the group were saying good things)! The restaurant was lively and the staff were friendly, throughout. As the food began to come out, I could feel myself converting into a Honeypaw fan... The starters ordered and shared by the group were all very flavorful. The range of flavors was making me more and more intrigued with every new starter dish. When we got our "entrees", I fully converted!! The rare beef salad was one of the more intriguing dishes I've had in a while and reminded me of one of my favorite dishes from my favorite restaurant. The Khao Soi was also a great choice, the broth carried an amazing flavor through every bite - I want to try other things on the menu but I will have a hard time not ordering this again upon my next trip! My one complaint was that the bar seemed to be two steps behind all night. I really enjoyed my first cocktail (it took forever to get to me but was delicious) and I wanted to try a second one.... Sadly the second one that I ordered never arrived.

Honey Paw Restaurant was really, really good. It feels like a modern take on Thai cuisine, with bold flavors and a creative twist. Even though there was only one vegetarian option on the menu, they were incredibly accommodating and happily customized two additional vegetarian dishes for us, which I truly appreciated. I ordered the crispy salad and it was so good that I came back the very next day and ordered the exact same thing again - that alone says everything. The cocktails are an absolute must-try: the menu is enormous, creative, and every drink we had was outstanding. And then there’s the fried bread. Oh. My. God. The fried bread was so, so, so unbelievably good that I would go back just for that. Honestly, I would move to Portland just to eat that fried bread again. They also have two modern ice cream options that are definitely worth saving room for. Overall, an incredible experience and easily one of the most memorable meals I’ve had. A must-visit.

We are Portland locals and this is our go-to spot for a quick and tasty meal! Service is always warm, inviting and friendly. The drinks are spot on. The Khao Soi is our fave dish in town AND I swear it can alleviate any ailment imaginable. Broken heart? Sore throat? Car note overdue? All is fine after a meal here!!
