Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

My boyfriend, who uses a wheelchair, a friend of mine, and her boyfriend—who also uses a wheelchair—had dinner here tonight. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and very clean. Prices are fair, and the food tastes homemade and fresh. However, several items listed on the chalkboard and menu were no longer available, and no one informed us until we tried to order them. Because of that, we had to choose other dishes we weren’t as excited about, which is something that should be improved. The mashed potatoes were good but could have used more salt, while the gravy was amazing. My friend and I ordered the pulled pork plate and felt the portion of meat was small for a full meal. The cream of corn was fantastic. Our favorite dish was the Country Skillet Chicken—so good! My boyfriend’s liver and onions were a little dry and bland. The same issue happened with dessert, as what we initially wanted was no longer available. We ended up getting the carrot cake, and it was honestly excellent—very homemade, with balanced flavors, lots of nuts, and plenty of carrot. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would come back. There are a few things the owner could improve, but it’s a cute, homemade-style restaurant with fair prices and a healthy, comforting feel.

Don’t miss out on this place!! It’s a hidden gem. Clean quaint interior space with counter service & tables. Food was plentiful, flavorful, fresh & a good variety of items. We went for breakfast, however, they have lunch and dinner as well. I had the Eggs Benedict special and it was exceptionally good. Service was prompt and courteous. My new go-to spot hands down!

This is an old school diner with good food and good prices. Owner Debbie interacts and provides personal extras at every turn. We had a late lunch with hash, cabbage steak, haddock, biscuits & gravy, apple pie and all were a cut above in taste and portions. She bakes the gorgeous pies and cakes - wow! We’ll definitely make the drive for breakfast soon.
