Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

The Garden Restaurant at Temple Square — Where Zion Meets Zesty If you’ve ever wondered what it would taste like to eat celestial glory, the new Garden Restaurant at Temple Square is probably it. Located just steps away from where pioneers once hand-pulled wagons, you can now hand-pull apart Lion House Rolls — still so soft they could convert even the most skeptical carb-avoider. Let’s start with the cinnamon roll, which, by Church standards, could feed a large family and a few home teachers. It’s enormous — like “Moses parting the frosting” levels of amazing. Bring your ministering companion to help you finish it. The Soup of the Day? Inspired. It tasted like it was crafted by Relief Society sisters who prayed over the pot. The sandwiches come with chips — because apparently even in Zion we can’t escape that “Café Rio combo” energy — but they’re hearty, fresh, and genuinely delicious. Don’t skip the salads — big enough to share unless you’ve fasted for two meals, in which case it’s personal revelation whether to order two. Now the apple pie — bless it — is the perfect size for one person, proving that the Garden understands that some temptations should not be shared. The environment feels like the Celestial Room of restaurants: elegant, and perfect whether you’re sealing a business deal, gathering the family, or sneaking in between conference sessions. Overall: 🌿 Heavenly food. 🍎 Righteous portions. 🍞 Lion House Rolls that could start a revival. 💼 Great for business meetings or post-temple dinners. In short, five stars, or as we call it in Utah, five loaves and two fishes.

The Garden Restaurant is a quick serve eating option in Temple Square. I thought the food was very average but the people in my group really enjoyed it. You order your meal at the counter and then you grab it when it’s ready. There are cinnamon roll looked really good.

This place was amazing in every way! I haven’t had food this good in years. We shared a jalapeno pork sandwich and a berry and nut salad and they were heavenly! Cute casual atmosphere and great service with an interesting way of ordering.
