Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Wow I don’t have enough good things to say about this place! Went right in & was seated with no wait around 6 pm on a Saturday. Their complimentary bread was warm & wonderful. The fried green tomatoes are hefty & thick. My pot roast was yummy. The only thing I didn’t love was the corn pudding- it was jiggly and not what I was expecting. However, their pies are absolutely delicious! Coconut meringue & Kentucky pie were both amazing. The portion sizes for the prices on everything was pretty good too. Everyone working here was very friendly & service was awesome. Can’t wait to come back!

A little bit of a tourist trap but not too bad. Food is good and service is good. Server was very friendly. Sonya and I had fried chicken. I had butter beans and greens for my sides. Butter beans were really good. Greens were good but tasted very salty. I don't eat much salt so everything tastes salty to me.

The mashed potatoes were real, the collard greens were seasoned perfectly and the fried green tomatoes served with a creamy horseradish dip may have been the best I've ever had. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy but could have used a little more seasoning. Homemade bread was a nice touch. My coworker had chicken and dumplings and said they were great. The tea was fresh and the service was quick and friendly. We'll definitely be back.
