Diners overwhelmingly call out the signature dish as the must-order. The vibe reads as vegan restaurant — service is consistently described as warm and unhurried. Common gotcha: queues form at peak times — go early or late.

Excerpts

Thunder Cafe is located inside of the Thunder Valley Casino. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were there for breakfast. The place is lively but more important, the food is delicious. The customer service is great! Even though the cafe was crowded we were seated right away. We ordered an omelet with spinach, mushrooms and ham; and a breakfast burrito. They arrived at our table within about 7 minutes. They were both delicious. The burrito was so large that it could serve 2 people. (We took half of it home.) The baked goods looked delicious and tempting, however, we resisted because we were so full from breakfast.

Everything we tried was outstanding. The menu is huge, offering something for every taste, and each dish is thoughtfully prepared with great seasoning and flavor. Portions are incredibly generous, with the pizza being enormous and the fish and chips perfect for sharing. A truly satisfying dining experience.

When I approached the counter to place my order, I was the only person in line. Despite this, the staff member working, Victoria, did not acknowledge me, even though she was clearly aware of my presence. She appeared to deliberately avoid helping me, choosing instead to socialize and attend to other tasks. When I finally asked for help, Victoria responded rudely and became argumentative rather than providing assistance. During the time I was waiting, the line grew to about seven people, and a manager eventually had to step in to assist with the backlog. What was especially troubling was that immediately after this interaction, Victoria promptly and courteously assisted the next customer in line, who was white. The stark contrast in how I was treated compared to the next customer made me feel singled out and discriminated against. The experience was uncomfortable and disappointing. I am a frequent guest at Thunder Valley, and this is not the type of customer service I’m used to seeing here.
