Food was good and served hot and fresh. If you're accustomed to true southern cooking (salty and/or sweet) you'll enjoy it. The Yankee husband liked the sweet and spicy chicken. Macaroni and cheese was a tad bland but good. I really enjoyed my original fried chicken, fried okra, and Brussels sprouts. It was more food than I could eat. The sweet Tea is also tooth achingly sweet like I like it. I would recommend it. Great atmosphere, good food, and very friendly staff.

Was really craving fried chicken and they did not disappoint. Good flavor with just a hint of sweetness. Green beans tasted like my grandmas. Don’t forget to get the biscuits!! Everything was delicious. Highly recommend

Nice southern inspired restaurant in downtown Des Moines. Brussel sprout appetizer was good, chicken sandwich very good and mac n cheese was outstanding. Drinks were also good. They were very busy so the service was slow but decent. They only seemed to have one bartender for the entire bar. Food and drinks were good, I will return on a less busy evening.
