I recently stopped by Uncle Cheetah's Soup Shop on the east side of Grand Rapids and WOW — this place is a hidden gem for anyone who loves seriously good comfort food done right. The soups are incredibly fresh, flavorful, and clearly made from scratch. You can tell there’s real creativity in the rotating daily selections — every bite tastes thoughtful, rich, and perfectly balanced. Pair it with one of their gourmet grilled cheeses and it’s basically comfort-food heaven. The vibe is casual, welcoming, and just the kind of spot you want when it’s chilly outside or you’re craving something satisfying without being heavy. Staff were friendly, quick, and genuinely passionate about what they serve. If you’re in Grand Rapids and haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. It’s the kind of place you visit once… and suddenly it becomes a regular stop. Highly recommend.

Was in the area and decided to try it. Had the Lobster Bisque. Really no lobster to speak of. I prefer my Lobster Bisque creamier too but that’s just my preference. They had some interesting sandwiches that I will try next time along with another soup. What I really like is they offer Great Lakes Potato Chip Co. chips and Faygo Pop! Love the Michigan tie in. The seating and space is limited, but everyone we dined with were friendly and accommodating.

Ugh disappointed. I have been feeling under the weather and wanted some comfort food. I picked up a grilled cheese and tomato soup. The soup was fine. The grilled cheese though the cheese was like not melted? So I tried to warm it up in the microwave and it kinda just fell apart.
